The Plan

This blog is all about building trust with the Word of God. It’s a good idea to have a clear idea of what ‘trust’ is if we are going to build some. We could try to come up with our own ideas and descriptions of what each of us think it is, or, we could use an example of something we already trust to see how we trust it. It would be a good idea to use an example of something we all trust.

The word ‘use ‘ needs to be clearly understood as well. If we are going to build trust in God’s Word, what will we build this trust in? Will we want to trust that it makes us feel good? Or maybe we could build trust in being able to know where certain scriptures are, how quickly we can pinpoint them in the Bible. What we really need to build trust in, is how well we can follow and do what God tells us, as in follow His Instruction, His Direction, His Word. We need to trust our ability to understand it and follow it. We are going to have to put it to use if we want understand it, follow it, and trust it. Some of the Proverbs tell us that trust is the beginning of knowledge and understanding.

Here at KU we will use the example of how we all trust and use the subject of mathematics. The fact is we trust the subject and its governing rules completely and could not imagine life without it. Mathematics is an example we all have common knowledge and understanding of. We all have built solid trust in its use and are all completely dependant on how much we trust it. Can we begin to trust and use God’s Word the way we did with math? Absolutely!

We will only be interested in the ‘process ‘ of how we ‘began to trust’ math, how that trust formed and continued to build into complete faith even at an early stage of life. If we study this ‘process’ and identify the building blocks we could use them to ‘begin to trust’ the Word of God.

We can build trust in His Word with the same process we build trust in math, but what we learn is completely different. God’s Word deals with matters of the heart where as math only appeals to the mind; you don’t have to have your heart in it to understand algebra or calculus. If we task our mind to consider some of God’s Word regarding love, a mystery to the mind, it will have to search for the answers where God has written His Laws; on the tablets of our heart.

The mind converses with the heart, considering Gods’ Laws about love producing a combined view, God’s View. His view will always point out a clear difference when mind verses mind and heart. Our next move is to repent to His View or stick with our minds view only. The choise is always ours.

One thing for sure, I would love to trust His Word in my life as much as I trust math in my life.
